SERVICE PROCEDURE
Service Procedure Flowchart — Engine stall while idling
1
REMOVE — 1 Pressure regulator
Remove vacuum hose from pressure regulator, and check idling.
2
Improved?
Improved
MEASURE — 2 Fuel pressure gauge
MEASURE — 2 Fuel pressure gauge
Connect vacuum hose to pressure regulator and measure fuel pressure.
Check idle mixture ratio. [See page EF & EC-25.]
Not improved (continue)
3
MEASURE — 3 Tachometer
Measure idle speed.
N.G. → Adjust idle speed. [See page EF & EC-25.]
4
CHECK — 4 Power transistor unit (KV109D10S0)
Check flashes of timing light for weakness.
N.G. → Check ignition signal circuit. [See page EF & EC-90.]
5
CHECK — 5 Spark plug (Gap)
Remove spark plugs and check their gaps and tips. (For conventional type plug)
and/or
6
CHECK — 6 Spark plug
Check spark plugs for being foul or wet with fuel.
7
CHECK — 7 A.A.C. valve
Check A.A.C. valve and/or its circuit. [See page EF & EC-106.]
8
CHECK — 8 F.I.C.D. solenoid
Check terminal voltage of F.I.C.D. solenoid.
N.G. → Check the part and/or circuit. [See HA section.]
9
PERFORM — 9 Self-diagnosis Mode IV
Perform self-diagnosis Mode IV (for idle switch).
N.G.
10
N.G. → Check the idle switch circuit. [See page EF & EC-94.]
