Park vehicle on flat surface.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

Move selector lever to "P" range.

Turn ignition switch ON (engine not started).

Does O.D. OFF indicator lamp come on for about 2 seconds?
No
Go to Diagnostic Procedure 1.
Yes

Does O.D. OFF indicator lamp flicker for about 8 seconds?
Yes
Perform self-diagnosis. — Refer to SELF-DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE.
No

Turn ignition switch OFF.

Perform self-diagnosis. — Refer to SELF-DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE and note N.G. items.
Go to "ROAD TESTING — 2. Check at idle".
