    Lock new larger boot band securely with a suitable tool, then lock new smaller boot band.
    Suitable boot-band tool locking the larger boot band on the drive-shaft assembly.

WHEEL SIDE

Wheel-side assembly

    Install new small boot band and boot on drive shaft.
    Cover drive shaft serration with tape to prevent damage to boot during installation.
    Drive-shaft serration covered with masking tape during boot installation to protect the boot from the splined edge.

    Install spider assembly securely, making sure marks are properly aligned.
    Press-fit with spider assembly serration chamfer facing shaft.
    Suitable tool press-fitting the wheel-side spider assembly onto the shaft, chamfered serration facing the shaft.

    Install new snap ring.

    Pack drive shaft with specified amount of grease.

    Install slide joint housing, then install new snap ring "A".

    Set boot so that it does not swell and deform when its length is "L₂". Make sure that boot is properly installed on the drive shaft groove.

    Lock new larger and smaller boot bands securely with a suitable tool.
