Final-drive-side disassembly

  1. 1
    Remove plug seal from slide joint housing by lightly tapping around slide joint housing.
    Hammer/screwdriver tapping around the slide-joint housing to remove the plug seal; sparkle marks indicate the points being struck.

    Remove boot bands.
  3. 3
    Put matchmarks on slide joint housing and drive shaft before separating joint assembly.

    Put matchmarks on spider assembly and drive shaft.
