    Loosen ring gear bolts in a criss-cross fashion.
    Technician loosening ring gear bolts in criss-cross pattern using a wrench on the differential assembly.

    Tap ring gear off the differential case with a soft hammer. Tap evenly all around to keep ring gear from binding.

    Separate differential case L.H. and R.H. (4-pinion type differential case). Put matchmarks on both differential case L.H. and R.H. sides prior to separating them.
